Job Summary: 

 

Voyager Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our GOEX black powder and chemical manufacturing plants in Minden, Louisiana. This role requires expertise across different trades including strong mechanical but also have some carpentry expertise. The technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment including production machinery, rotating equipment, HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, and other general facility repairs. You will work closely with the production team to ensure safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing plant. 

 

You will be required to dress out in work-specific clothes issued to you by the company and shower at the end of each working day. Due to the unusual nature of our business, you will have times in which you and your team will need to interact with the production team to troubleshoot machinery issues while the line is hot. Teamwork is especially important here in all aspects of the job as we strive for safety. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems to identify root causes and determine appropriate repairs. 
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control components. 
  • Install new equipment and systems, ensuring proper alignment, functionality, and integration with existing infrastructure. 
  • Perform facility maintenance tasks, such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repairs to support a safe and functional work environment. 
  • Build, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures as needed. 
  • Execute and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, both manually and through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in both paper and electronic formats to ensure data integrity and compliance. 
  • Follow all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards, including the proper implementation of lock-out/tag-out/try-out procedures and other safety protocols while performing work. 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plant environment 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems. 
  • General carpentry skills
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in maintenance and repair tasks. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams. 
  • Experience with equipment installation and system integration in an industrial environment. 
  • Familiarity with facility maintenance, including basic plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and general repairs. 
  • Competency using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and maintaining accurate maintenance records. 
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures, including but not limited to lock-out/tag-out, proper usage of PPE , working at heights, and other OSHA regulations. 
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage both paper and electronic records with experience in using Excel 
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team. 
  • Adaptability and problem-solving ability in fast-paced or high-pressure situations. 
  • High school diploma or GED  
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses, including  
    • Be 21 years of age or older  
    • Pass a pre-employment drug test  
    • Pass State and Federal background checks.

The pay range for this role is:
24 - 38 USD per hour(Minden, Louisiana)
